BRUSSELS, 21st June, 2025 (WAM) — UAE Team Emirates-XRG showcased its continued dominance at the Baloise Belgium Tour, with Florian Vermeersch and Filippo Baroncini achieving impressive third and fourth positions, respectively, in Stage 3. Their teammate, Rune Herregodts, further solidified the team’s success with a tenth-place finish. This performance propelled three UAE Team Emirates riders into the top ten of the general classification.
The strength displayed during Friday’s challenging 9.7-kilometre individual time trial positions Vermeersch and Baroncini in third and fourth place overall, trailing race leader Ethan Hayter of Soudal Quick-Step (the stage winner) by less than 20 seconds.
Sebastián Molano, the Colombian rider and former general classification leader representing UAE Team Emirates, unfortunately fell back due to a puncture during his final run. Despite this setback, he ascended to the podium as the leader of the points classification, a testament to his consistent second-place finishes in the preceding two stages.
All eyes are now on Stage 4, which features the demanding climbs of the Mur de Durbuy. This stage is anticipated to cause significant shifts in the general classification standings. UAE Team Emirates is focused on sustaining its momentum and striving for continued top-tier results.
Vermeersch commented that the team’s strong showing is a result of their excellent physical and mental preparation. He emphasized that the competition remains fierce and that the riders are committed to delivering exceptional performances in the stages to come.
