DUBAI – As the four-day Eid Al Adha holiday drew to a close on Sunday, the spirit of community and appreciation was on full display across the UAE as thousands of workers were honored with special celebratory events at 10 different locations.
Under the banner “Eid with Our Workers is Joy and Happiness,” the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), in a major collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, various police departments, and other government and private sector partners, hosted the festivities.
The events, held in worker-prominent areas including Jebel Ali, Al Quoz, and Muhaisnah in Dubai, as well as sites in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, saw a massive turnout. Workers were treated to a variety of entertainment, including live music, cultural performances, and folk dances, reflecting the diverse fabric of the UAE.
Officials were seen joining the workers for Eid prayers and exchanging greetings, underscoring the nation’s gratitude for their significant contributions.
The celebrations were marked by an atmosphere of joy and excitement, with numerous interactive competitions and prize draws. Lucky attendees walked away with valuable gifts, including a car and several airline tickets, allowing them to celebrate with their families back home.
These nationwide events highlight the UAE’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the welfare and happiness of its entire workforce, fostering a sense of belonging and shared celebration during one of the most important occasions in the Islamic calendar. Work for all private and public sector employees is set to resume on Monday, June 9.
